WHAT WE DO

The Long Branch Business Improvement Area (BIA) works diligently to promote the area as a vibrant and healthy commercial, retail, residential and entertainment centre, attracting people to live, shop and work. The BIA is responsible for activities such as:

·       Streetscape improvements and maintenance

·       Hosting neighbourhood festivals and events

·       Graffiti and poster removal

·       Strategic plans for business recruitment, market studies and capital improvements

·       Advocate on behalf of their membership as a unified voice

What We've Achieved

·       Installation of nautical themed lightposts along Lake Shore Blvd. West

·       Creation of the annual Long Branch Summer Fest

·       Annual flower planter installations along Lake Shore Blvd. West

·      Signature tree lighting inititative

·       Quarterly newsletter for BIA members

WHO WE ARE

The Long Branch BIA was established in ABC and represents the commercial strip along Lake Shore Blvd. W from Long Branch Ave. to 22nd Street.

OUR MISSION

The Long Branch BIA is the voice of the business community and is committed to improving and promoting the Long Branch area through investment and advocacy.

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT

The Long Branch BIA Board is run by a volunteer Board of Management elected from its members. The Board is approved by City Council and serves a four-year term concurrent with the term of Council. The Board works on behalf of its members and meets regularly to develop budgets, set priorities, implement capital improvements, plan festivals and promote its business area. The size of each Board of Management, and the number of citizen members and Council members on each BIA Board is set out in the City of Toronto Municipal Code, Chapter 19, Business Improvement Areas.
